- Meta now makes advertisers responsible for edits its AI features make to ads, from 30 October 2026. Check your Advantage+ creative settings.
- Meta switches on product browsing for existing ads on 28 October unless you opt out.
- OpenAI turns on automatic “creative enhancements” for ChatGPT ads around 29–30 October.
- Google Ads can now pull coupons from your website into some Search and Performance Max campaigns automatically.
Ad platforms changed several default settings this month. Most of them switch on automatically, so if you run ads you should review them before the end of October. Here is what changed and what to do, in plain words.
Meta: you are responsible for what its AI changes in your ads
From 30 October 2026, Meta’s updated Commercial Terms say advertisers are responsible for what Meta’s AI features create or change in their ads, including features Meta turns on by default, as reported by PPC Land citing Adweek. These include Advantage+ creative enhancements such as background changes, brightness and format tweaks, translated text and AI-generated images.
- Open each campaign in Ads Manager and check the Advantage+ creative options, including collapsed menus.
- Turn off any enhancement that could change your brand message, prices or compliance text (for example MahaRERA details on property ads).
- Look at the ads that actually run, not just the ones you uploaded.
Meta: product browsing switches on for existing ads
Meta told advertisers it will turn on product browsing for ads already running from 28 October 2026. People who tap an ad may first see product information and suggestions inside Facebook or Instagram instead of going straight to your website, according to PPC Land. You can opt out from Meta’s notice or switch it off per ad in Advantage+ Creative and Destination settings.
ChatGPT ads: automatic rewrites by default
OpenAI is switching on creative enhancements by default for self-serve ChatGPT ad campaigns around 29–30 October 2026. The system can rewrite headlines and descriptions, translate text and resize images, according to PPC Land. You can opt out at account or campaign level in Ads Manager.
For Indian businesses: ChatGPT ads went live in India on 29 August 2026, shown to Free and Go users. At launch, Indian advertisers bought through OpenAI’s sales team or partners rather than self-serve, with a listed minimum of ₹725 per day (PPC Land).
Google Ads: coupons from your website, added automatically
Since 12 October 2026, Google Ads can find promotions on your website and apply them to eligible Search and Performance Max campaigns that have location assets and no promotion assets, as Search Engine Roundtable reported. It is on by default. To turn it off, go to account-level automated assets and set Automated Promotions to Off.
What to do this week
| Platform | Change | Action |
|---|---|---|

| Meta | Product browsing on by default (28 Oct) | Opt out if you want site or form traffic |
| ChatGPT ads | Creative enhancements on (29–30 Oct) | Opt out or review rewrites |
| Google Ads | Automated promotions (12 Oct) | Check promotions shown; turn off if wrong |
Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, so it is worth fixing these settings before festive and sale campaigns ramp up.
